Randstad has produced a report in which it analyzes the evolution of contracts converted to permanent contracts over the last decade. To do this, it has taken into account the data relating to the years between 2007 and 2017 published by the State Public Employment Service ( SEPE ) .
The analysis reveals that in the last year the conversion of temporary contracts into permanent Email Data contracts in the Valencian Community has increased by 23.4%, reaching 76,345 conversions, which is the highest figure in the last nine years, already close to the levels prior to the economic crisis. At the provincial level, Castellón (27%) is the one that has grown the most compared to 2016, followed by Alicante (24.3%) and Valencia (21.9%).
In the historical series, it is observed that since 2007 the number of this type of contracts decreased for five consecutive periods until registering the lowest figure in 2012 (40,102). Since then, conversions have increased for five years in a row, recording the largest increase of the decade in 2017.
At the national level, Randstad highlights that in 2017 a total of 686,445 conversions were registered, which represents a growth of 17.9% compared to the previous year. After five consecutive years of growth, this figure is the highest in the last eight years.
These temporary contracts converted to permanent contracts represent 40.1% of the total permanent contracts of the year, that is, almost half of the permanent contracts in 2017 come from temporary contracts.
The increase in temporary contracts converted to permanent contracts and the approach to conversion rates prior to the crisis confirm the positive trend of the labor market and economic recovery.
Likewise, it is shown that temporary hiring works as a bridge to a stable job. In fact, for those profiles with lower qualifications, temporary hiring helps them increase their employability through experience ,” says Luis Pérez , director of Institutional Relations at Randstad.
