Fraud in non-labor practices costs more than billion to Social Security

Within the framework of International Youth Day, the General Union of Workers denounces that fraud in non-work practices costs more than 1.5 billion euros to Social Security. The data, coming from a study carried out by Revolución Ugetista (RUGE), show a normalization of fraud in non-labor practice agreements whose strategy consists of trying to hide the existence of labor relations. The study indicates that companies offer non-work internship positions , and pass off young people who are not enrolled in any formal training as intern students, when in reality they are carrying out effective work. These people are thus forced to enroll in an online course that usually costs about 200 euros out of their pocket. The group of people who carried out paid non-work, university and training internships in a total of -, which translates into an equivalent of 296,310 annual jobs , the impact of non-labor practices on salaries is 4,251.8 million euros, calculated based on the data indicated by the Salary Structure Survey. To access these internships, young people must enroll in an online course that usually costs about 200 euros out of their pocket. In the same year, and according to data from the same Australia Phone Number survey, the impact on the Social Security system amounts to million euros in contributions. Finally, in the period between 2014 and 2018, these unpaid or poorly paid non-labor practices have resulted. in a loss of million euros in salaries and million euros in contributions. In this sense, the union urgently demands a Statute of Non-Work Practices, a commitment from the Government after the agreement reached in the Shock Plan for Youth Employment of December 2018 but which after two and a half years remains without advance. In this sense, it urges to take advantage of the momentum that is being given at the Social Dialogue table to modernize the Workers' Statute to bring certainty to the group of scholarship holders and end their precarious situation .



Opinion about justice, behavioral models such as  courtesy, diligence  and  transparency : respect for the dignity and equality of all people, without discrimination based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation or political conviction, or any other social or personal circumstance; the performance of his jurisdictional activity with dedication, studying the matters entrusted to him in detail and in his own uniqueness; the adoption of resolutions, preventing their conviction from being altered for reasons of convenience; the non-acceptance of gifts, courtesies or considerations that exceed logical social conventions and, in no case, when it jeopardizes the appearance of impartiality; the coherence of the dignity of their jurisdictional function with behavior consistent with it; not using the prestige of their jurisdictional functions to benefit their personal, family.
